Jenna and Daryl
Jenna & Daryl’s wedding at the brilliant Lynnhurst Hotel in Johnstone, Scotland- was fantastic.
I’ve known them both for a while now, with Jenna’s Dad being a very close friend, so I was absolutely made up when they got in touch to ask me if I would photograph their big day- as always it means a lot, but maybe more so when it’s someone I’ve known a long time?
In any case- it was brilliant and I had such a wonderful time with J & D, and all their guests.
As always with my wedding couples, I met up a few weeks beforehand to run through the day, and took the cameras along to grab some ‘pre wedding’ photos which are a brilliant way to get to know couples, get used to each other and of course, get some nice photos!
Jenna and Daryl were all nervous, the usual chat of ‘I hate having my photo taken’ but I think we did ok!

So, after the initial ‘I hate getting my photos taken’ banter had been binned, it was time for the big day.
I arrived early and met up with the boys, Daryl and his groomsmen looking tip top- a little nervous maybe but that didn’t last long. I forgot to say above that I’d actually been in Munich with the bold Daryl at Oktoberfest, and if you can get through 5 days of THAT, you can get through anything :)
It was also amazing to see Daryl’s father in law to be, Brian, who is the reason I am there pretty much.
My first gaffer in the Fire Brigade, and a very close friend, who loves a cuddle as anyone who knows him will tell you. Great cuddles to be fair, always QUALITY. More on him later.
A great bunch of boys. I was loving it.
Anyway- here’s some photos.
With the time with the boys finished for now, it was time to get to the main event. I mean, as good as the boys look- everyone wants to see the Bride, don’t they?
Jenna. Wow.
From the moment I met up with the girls I could tell how special a morning it would be. Lots of emotion, mum Rhona, who also looked beautiful, on hand to keep it all running smoothly ahead of the ceremony.
The honeymoon suite in the Lynnhurst is absolutely stunning, and we got such beautiful light coming in the huge bay window. It just all came together.
The moments of Jenna’s final preparations with the girls were so nice, but the real MOMENTS came just afterwards when Brian saw Jenna for the first time in wee dress.
Now, as I mentioned earlier, the Howie’s are very close friends and Brian was my first ever Gaffer in the Fire Service. I’m very close to him, and as a father of two girls myself, I always try and wonder what I’d feel like seeing them in this situation, as the Father of the Bride.
I wont ramble on- I think the photos tell the story, which is kinda what I try to do. Anyone who knows the Howies’ will immediately get it.
And with that, it was time to go get married. Daryl was waiting.
With that, it was time to go get married. A fantastic service conducted by the wonderful and always brilliant Ross Wright, with tons of laughter, emotion and carry on from everyone!
And then, something different. Jenna & Daryl had said they wanted a photo with all the guests doing a ‘shot’, but asked me how I could do it. So, I thought…instead of doing a confetti shot, I’d do a ‘shot shot’.
I lined all the guests up, Jenna and Daryl ran through them all, they all did shots, then J and D did shots at the end and had a kiss! I love trying to come up with stuff like this, and more so couples who trust me and are up for a laugh!
Now I know there’s a LOT of photos so far- but there’s more. The rest of the day was just magic. I will shut up and let you all have a look for yourselves.
Please leave a comment, share, do all that social media goodness. Really helps!
